Dr. James Lei

Dr. James Lei is a seasoned researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, and visionary leader. He has 70+ publications in journals and conferences, multiple patents, and contributed to several startups in the multimedia and networking space. He is currently the Program Director for Cloud Computing Technology at Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI). The program has won several international recognitions, such as the 2011 CES Innovations Award, 2008 Taiwan Excellence Award, and 2007 IBM/Microsoft Consensus Award. The R&D team has also won the runner up finalist award at 2012 Grand Challenge Competition at the ACM International Conference on Distributed Event-Based Systems, and entered top 5% rank at the 2013 KDD Cup data mining competition. Dr. Lei has got a Meritorious Award for International Mathematical Contest in Modeling by SIAM in 1989. He obtained Bachelor degree in Mathematics from Beijing University, MS in Applied Math and PhD in EE from Brown University.

Dr. Lei has held various research and management positions at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, and Panasonic Research in USA. He has taught at Business School of Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has served as the executive member and was on the advisory board for several non-profit organizations. He was the president of New Jersey Chinese Computer Professionals Society, the director of Chinese Association of Science & Technology, Beijing Overseas Scientific Advisory Board, the board director of North American Chinese Scholars International Exchange Center, the State Research Fund Industry Committee for New Jersey Center for Wireless Telecom, and the technical conference organizer and session chair. He was the cofounder of Guangzhou International High-Tech Incubation Center dedicated to the overseas Chinese scholars setting up business in China. Routinely sought-after by technical forums, investment meetings, industry and academic events, Dr. Lei actively participates and contributes his experience, knowledge and passion to the technical and entrepreneur world.

Hock Yun KHOONG

Mr Khoong is the Assistant Chief Executive (Development Group) and Chief Data Officer of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. Part of IDA’s senior management, ACE Khoong brings with him a balance of industry and government expertise, and has developed strong cross-cultural management experience from directly managing global operations in Singapore, Europe and USA.

He oversees the development of ICT industry in Singapore, which includes building companies, manpower, technologies, and critical national infocomm infrastructure e.g. the nationwide fibre-to-the-home project which has achieved 95% coverage in less than three years from inception, and also the Smart Nation Platform, the key infrastructure for Singapore’s Smart Nation Plan.

Mr Khoong also seeks to grow the impact of ICT on the broader economy by partnering industry to encourage growth ICT utilisation in various verticals like healthcare, logistics, etc. Included in his portfolio is the responsibility for IDA’s strategic and corporate planning.

Ken Low

Ken Low is an experienced cybersecurity professional and a frequent speaker in the Asia Pacific region. As the chairman of the Asia Pacific Executive Council of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), he represents the interests of CSA’s corporate sponsors and individual members and he also serves as its ambassador to promote greater awareness of CSA and its industry initiatives in this region. Ken is also the Asia Pacific Director of Enterprise Security at Trend Micro where he is responsible for its enterprise security strategy, thought leadership, business development initiatives and special projects. His presentations and articles on national cybercrime, cloud security, mobile security and security management have been featured by The Australian, Bloomberg TV, BusinessWeek, The Business Times, CCTV, CIO Australia, CNET USA, CIO Asia, Hong Kong Economic Times, MediaCorp Radio, SC Magazine and ZDNet Asia. Prior to joining Trend Micro, he held regional leadership roles at security firms in Australia and Singapore such as RSA Security (EMC), VeriSign, TippingPoint (HP/3Com) and Sensecurity. He holds the CISSP and GSLC certifications from (ISC)2 and The SANS Institute respectively and he was also a former GIAC advisory board member of the SANS Institute. His education includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from RMIT University (Australia), a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and a Postgraduate Diploma of Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (U.K.).

Pierre is the Chief Security Officer and Advisor for Microsoft in Asia.
 
A Belgian citizen living in Asia for over two decades, Pierre has nearly 30 years of international experience on Information Security and Enterprise Risk Management;
 
He designed and built complete Security and Enterprise Risk Management environments for Governments, Finance, Transport and large conglomerate industries over the World.

Pierre is currently helping several nations in Asia to build their Cyber Security Infrastructure & framework from the ground up.
