Cloud Security Alliance EMEA Congress 2014 to Feature Series of Workshops and Working Group Meetings

Rome, Italy – November 12, 2014 - The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and MIS Training Institute today announced a series of pre- and post-conference workshops and working group meetings scheduled to take place in conjunction with CSA EMEA Congress 2014 being held November 18-20 at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel and Spa in Rome, Italy. The workshops and meetings, covering a wide range of topics from government policies to certifications, are designed to allow attendees to learn and leverage best practices used by industry leaders and their peers in moving to a secure cloud. All meetings and workshops will be held at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel and Spa and are free to CSA members and conference delegates unless otherwise noted. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, November 18: Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) Workshop: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A special training session will be held in preparation for CCSK testing, an examination for a broad foundation of knowledge about cloud security, with topics ranging from architecture, governance, compliance, operations, encryption, virtualization and much more. Auditing Your Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Architecture Workshop: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 pm A hands-on lab will be conducted that will enable AWS customers, their internal/external auditors, and business partners to understand how to audit the use of AWS services through extending their existing auditing objectives. Privacy Level Agreement (PLA) Working Group Meeting: 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The latest European Union (EU) Data Protection Law impacts best practices in defining a standard format for EU-wide Privacy Level Agreements (PLAs) and standards. The CSA PLA Working Group will be updating the PLA v2 outline to meet all laws of the 28 EU Member States. EMEA Chapter Leaders Meeting: 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. A meeting will be held to allow global chapters to come together and meet face to face to address common interests and upcoming research. Friday, November 21: Cloud Control Matrix (CCM) Working Group Meeting: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The CCM and Consensus Assessments Initiative (CAI) working groups released their latest versions in July. Information will be provided on the CCM and CAI efforts with input and involvement in both the latest v3.0.1 release and future releases. Financial Services Working Group Meeting: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The CSA Financial Services Working Group will look to evaluate cloud adoption and analyze concerns in the financial and banking market. The latest survey data will be discussed to identify the industry’s main concerns regarding the delivery and management of cloud services in the financial sector. Cloud Trust Protocol Working Group Meeting: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The CloudTrust Protocol and Security SLA Working Groups will host a working session on the development of Security SLAs and SLOs contributing to cloud service metrics. These metrics play a role in the CTP data model for next generation data center monitoring. Friday, November 21 and Saturday November 22: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Advanced Cloud Security Auditing for CSA STAR Certification Workshop In conjunction with the CSA, BSI has developed the CSA STAR Certification scheme to measure the robustness and performance of cloud security. It gives cloud service providers the ability to prove that their registration to the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA’s) Security, Trust and Assurance Registry (STAR) has been independently assessed against the new CSA STAR certification maturity model. Led by an experienced tutor, this advanced course commences with the one day ‘Auditing Cloud Security for CSA STAR Certification’ program before concentrating on how a CSA STAR rating is determined using a detailed case study on day two. This event will be held at the Roma Eventi Piazza di Spagna. Registration fee is 2,300 euro +IVA. CSA Members are eligible for a 20% discount.
