Cloud Security Alliance Announces Decade of Vision Leadership Award Winners

Winners have provided consistent support, mentoring and evangelism of CSA over last decade

SAN FRANCISCO – March 4,2019 RSA CONFERENCE 2019 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, today announced the recipients of its Decade of Vision Leadership award, given to the three founding CEOs, who provided the initial startup funding, plus consistent support, mentoring, and evangelism of the CSA mission on a global basis over the last 10 years. The awards were presented at the CSA Summit at RSA Conference.

  • Jay Chaudhry, CEO of Zscaler, has a tremendous record as a serial entrepreneur in information security, and has led one of the most successful industry IPOs in the industry. Jay has been instrumental in driving the vision of Security-as-a-Service—providing secure access to any application from any device or location, over any network—and has helped CSA craft its mission statement of securing the cloud.
  • Philippe Courtot, CEO of Qualys, is a recognized industry visionary and has been tirelessly promoting the benefits of a cloud approach to security at Qualys for over 18 years. The CSA is grateful for his ongoing support and proud to be partnered with Courtot on the CIO/CISO Interchange.
  • Phil Dunkelberger, CEO of Nok Nok Labs, was a founding CEO while leading PGP Corporation. Over the last decade, Dunkelberger has been a champion for ubiquitous encryption, to not only help organizations protect their information, but also to accelerate the exchange of trusted information to transform business. He has supported numerous industry initiatives and was also a key stakeholder in launching the FIDO Alliance, tackling the difficult problem of online identities and strong authentication.

“Successful CEOs in our industry share common traits — a sense of the magnitude of the battle we fight that supersedes any one company’s mission, a longer-term perspective than the immediacy of today, and tremendous empathy and support for the good guys in our industry,” said Jim Reavis, CEO of CSA. “Developing a successful and sustainable organization depends upon many factors: quality services, a market vision, focus, execution, timing and champions in the market who support all of these things. For Cloud Security Alliance, now celebrating our 10th anniversary, we are grateful to have such strong believers who have helped us fulfill our vision and allowed us to be one of the most important information security associations on a global basis.”
