Background information to this CISO
In today’s digital age, information security is absolutely essential to protect the availability, privacy and integrity of business data. As businesses become increasingly dependent on complex information system, organisations must manage information security effectively to enable secure business collaboration across the extended enterprise.

A comprehensive information security framework must be implemented with minimum impact on business operations. The role of the chief information security officer (CISO) on the other hand, continues to evolve as the overall information security industry matures. CISO nowadays plays a more strategic role in the organisation.
One of the biggest challenges facing Information Security officers is to develop a risk-based approach to proactively manage future security challenges and yet being able to keep up to date with the ever-changing governance framework. There is the risk that if CISO do not adjust their risk management strategies to comply with regulations, they may face legal sanctions. These differences will be explored and practical solutions suggested during the course.

Although, many companies may find these standards difficult to implement, it is nevertheless important that CISO become fully conversant with their requirements, implementation and more importantly, potential threats with technology. This requires an all-rounder who can deal with business issues and not just focus on the IT side.

This CISO Summit is designed to give senior information security professionals a good grounding on the fundamental of information security instruments to measure the compliance risk factors.
