Cloud Security Alliance Appoints Cyber Security Industry Veteran from Trend Micro as First Asia Pacific Executive Council Chairman

CSA strengthens team in Asia Pacific in preparation for the opening of its Asia Pacific headquarters in 2012

Singapore, March 21, 2012 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704;TSE: 4704), a global cloud security leader, today announced the appointment of Ken Low, Director of Enterprise Security, Asia Pacific, Trend Micro, as the first Chairman of the Asia Pacific Executive Council for CSA. This appointment reinforces CSA’s continuing efforts to strengthen its presence in this region in the lead up to the establishment of its APAC Headquarters in the second quarter of 2012 . “As we continue our journey to develop specific initiatives for Asia Pacific, we are pleased to appoint Ken Low of Trend Micro to lead the region’s executive council. His wealth of experience in the cyber security space and passion for promoting best practices and standards in cloud security place him in an ideal position to support CSA’s mission,” said Aloysius Cheang, Managing Director Asia Pacific, CSA. Trend Micro is the founding sponsor of CSA Asia Pacific, and was recently recognized by CSA with the first Cloud Security Alliance Industry Leadership award for its CEO Eva Chen’s long-standing support and significant achievements in bringing cloud security innovations to the APAC region. His role as the regional ambassador for CSA will help bridge the gap between the West and the East, and promote greater awareness of the alliance and its industry initiatives. “I am very excited to be part of CSA Asia Pacific to further the efforts in education and research around cloud security in this region, and help accelerate the development of standards and adoption of cloud computing. For example, Trend Micro has worked with the CSA in helping influence cloud security initiatives of governments in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Trend Micro have has also collaborated with the CSA Cloud Data Governance working group on a global survey to identify the gaps in the current state of data governance and data security capabilities. In my role with CSA, we will be looking to sponsor a new research project for this region with CSA that will provide useful insights for future guidance on best practices for cloud security,” said Ken. With more than XX years a decade of experience in the cyber security industry, Ken held previous roles in security firms including RSA Security (EMC), VeriSign, TippingPoint (HP/3Com) and Sensecurity. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds a GAIC Security Leadership certification. As part of his participation in CSA, Ken will also spearhead and facilitate training and certification of Trend Micro’s cloud security experts in CSA Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), the industry’s first user certification program for secure cloud computing.
