Mr. Daniel Lai, BBS, JP, Government CIO for the Hong Kong Government, commended the new chapter in his opening address to the Summit. “I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to the launch of the Cloud Security Alliance Hong Kong and Macau Chapter. This has set a good example of how industry experts can get together and collaborate in the conducive development of cloud computing and shape the direction of cloud security. I believe this Hong Kong and Macau Chapter, riding on local efforts and exchanges with other chapters globally, will make commendable contributions and efforts towards enhancing user awareness and confidence in adopting cloud, and encouraging professional discussion in cloud security.” The Hong Kong and Macau chapter is chaired by Mr Antony Ma, Senior Security Consultant with Verizon Enterprise Services, with Dale Johnstone, Partner, Xione Group and Mr Terry Cheung, General Manager, IT Infrastructure, Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau S.A.R.L (CTM), serving as vice chairs. Key goals for the chapter include:
  • To enhance user confidence in the security of cloud computing services.
  • To facilitate cloud security training, awareness and education.
  • To encourage professional discussion in influencing security in cloud computing deployments.
“We welcome the Hong Kong and Macau chapter, and look forward to their contributions in key areas of focus that are critical to their constituents,” said Aloysius Cheang, Managing Director, APAC, for the CSA. “We encourage anyone interested in cloud security to get involved, to benefit from networking with their peers who are addressing these same challenges, and help further educate the market on needs and best practices in this area.” About the Cloud Security Alliance The Cloud Security Alliance is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing.
