Open Peer Review: Cloud Security Services Management Working Group Charter

The Cloud Security Alliance would like to invite you to review and comment on the proposed Cloud Security Services Management Working Group Charter.

It is well acknowledged that collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders are critical to secure the cloud platform, therefore there is a need to build and manage cloud security services within the industry. Cloud security services management is complex, multi-disciplinary, and relatively under-researched compared to traditional information and network security disciplines. A successful cloud security services management platform should comprise of technical, business, geographical and legal considerations. Although leading cloud providers are developing their security services management platform aggressively, there still exists a gap between cloud providers and security vendors. It is necessary and valuable to set up a platform for cloud providers and security vendors to develop a best practice guideline on how to build and, more importantly, to manage cloud security services.

The mission of the Cloud Security Services Management working group is to develop a platform, based on the white paper which will be published in the first phase, for cloud providers to publish their security requirements and for security vendors to share their security products and services. This will be especially beneficial to SMBs which are cloud service providers, security vendors and cloud customers, which have no resource doing comprehensive research on geographical and legal requirements in different regions and countries.

This is your opportunity to provide feedback and identify any critical areas that we might miss in our working group’s focus. The open review and comments period starts today and ends on February 10, 2017.

We appreciate your assistance. Thank you in advance for your time and contribution. If you are interested in getting involved with the Cloud Security Service Management working group, please contact research@cloudsecurityalliance.org.
