Call for Volunteers: Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing

The Cloud Security Alliance's (CSA) Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus leverages the CSA Cloud Control Matrix and seeks to establish a stable, secure baseline for cloud operations. Since its last revision in 2011, the cloud landscape, tools and technologies have changed and so we want to reflect that in an updated version of the Guidance. CSA is currently seeking volunteers to provide in-depth feedback and insight for the next version of the Security Guidance.

Cloud Security Alliance and Palo Alto Networks Release Security Considerations for Private vs. Public Clouds

The Cloud Security Alliance teamed up with Palo Alto Networks to produce a new whitepaper titled, “Security Considerations for Private vs. Public Clouds.” A public cloud deployment occurs when a cloud’s entire infrastructure is owned, operated and physically housed by an independent Cloud Service Provider. A private cloud deployment consists of a cloud’s entire infrastructure owned, operated and physically housed by the tenant business itself, generally managed by its own IT infrastructure organization.

CSA Establishes Cloud Data Governance Working Group and Releases Governance Framework

The Cloud Data Governance working group has recently released a data governance framework to ensure the privacy, availability, integrity and overall security of data in different cloud models. These will feed into the GRC stack and can be implemented as controls across CSA’s CAIQ, CCM and STAR.

Cloud Security Alliance Releases New Privacy Level Agreement Guidelines to Address Personal Data Protection Compliance

The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Privacy Level Agreement (PLA) Working Group  released the Privacy Level Agreement (PLA) v2, a powerful tool that provides cloud customers and potential customers, of any size, with a mechanism to identify a baseline of mandatory personal data protection legal requirements across the European Union (EU).

Open Review Period: Proposed Cloud Security Open API Work Group Charter

The Cloud Security Alliance would like to invite you to review and comment on the proposed Cloud Security Open API Work Group Charter. The goal of the Cloud Security Open API Initiative is to provide guidance for Enterprises and Cloud Service Providers on functionality and interoperability with CASBs.
