Becky Swain of CSA Honored with the 2012 CloudNOW Top Ten Women in Cloud Award
1st Annual CloudNOW Awards Recognize Swain for her Thought Leadership and Contributions to the Cloud
Santa Clara, CA, - Feb 14, 2012– The Cloud Security Alliance is pleased to congratulate Becky Swain, a founding member of the CSA and Board member of the Silicon Valley Chapter, who has been honored with the CloudNOW Top Ten Women in Cloud Award for her contributions, accomplishments and thought leadership. “This award recognizes Becky’s significant achievements and contributions as a leader in the field of cloud computing, and she deserves all the accolades she receives. I'm pleased that CloudNOW has awarded this well-deserved honor and look forward to her continued success in the field,” said Bernard Golden, CloudNOW Advisory Board. CloudNOW, a nonprofit executive consortium of the leading women in cloud computing, announced the winners of the first annual CloudNOW awards during the Cloud Connect Conference. Winners were selected through a process of industry nominations and applications, with final selection based on outstanding contributions to the cloud. “I was pleased and delighted to be recognized by CloudNOW with this leadership award. This is an exciting time to be in cloud computing,” said Swain. “CloudNOW is recognized throughout the industry as representing the next generation in IT, and the next generation of women’s tech organizations.” Swain is a Partner with EKKO Consulting, Founding Member of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and the Security Lead for the Cloud Network of Women (CloudNOW) Special Interest Group (SIG). She has over 13 years of strategic and applied information security expertise with both a broad and deep understanding of the design and effectiveness of policies, processes, architectures, and internal controls. As Co-Founder/Chair of the CSA Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM), Mrs. Swain is actively engaged in evangelizing and developing the adoption of emerging Cloud security standards and risk management best practices. She is a Project Co-editor for the new international standard on supplier information security risk management, ISO/IEC 27036. Mrs. Swain holds numerous certifications, including CISSP, CISA, CIPP/US and CIPP/IT and serves on the Board of the CSA Silicon Valley Chapter. Mrs. Swain was also an award finalist for the ‘Information Security Practitioner’ category in the inaugural (ISC)2 2011 Americas Information Security Leadership Awards (Americas ISLA).
