Cloud Security Alliance announces appointment of general counsel Francoise Gilbert

Noted Attorney and Author Francoise Gilbert to Manage Cloud Security Alliance's Legal Affairs

Palo Alto, California – May 24, 2010 – The Cloud Security Alliance today has announced that Francoise Gilbert, founder and managing director of the IT Law Group, has accepted the appointment as General Counsel (pro bono) for the Cloud Security Alliance. "Francoise has gained a reputation as one of the legal communities foremost experts on security and privacy and its relationship to emerging technologies", said Jim Reavis, Cloud Security Alliance executive director, "She has already established her credentials within cloud computing through her contributions to the CSA Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing, and we are thrilled to have her participation in this expanded role." In her 27 years of practice, Ms Gilbert has assisted a broad range of clients on corporate and commercial matters that pertain to information technology and information assets, including licensing, outsourcing, offshoring, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and information privacy and security, nationally and internationally. Francoise is also the author and editor of the two-volume treatise Global Privacy and Security Law, www.globalprivacybook.com, distributed by Aspen Publishing / Wolters Kluwer.
