Cloud Security Alliance Establishes New Greater China Region Headquarters in Shanghai
Shanghai, China – July 9, 2021 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining standards, certifications and best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, today announced that in response to digital transformation throughout the region, it will be opening a new CSA GCR headquarters in Shanghai, China, in July this year.
“We have seen strong growth in our service provider members throughout China, most notably in the cyber security sector. We also are collaborating closely with several national government think tanks has put us in the forefront of the industry in assisting both customers and cloud providers in addressing this critical regulation. In order to meet CSA’s continued growth in this region, we are expanding our presence in China and will use this base for coordination of all of our events, chapters and enterprise outreach throughout the Greater China Region,” said Jim Reavis, CEO, Cloud Security Alliance.
At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2021 on July 9, the CSA GCR Unveiling Ceremony was held. Chinese Government leaders Chen Zhimin (Deputy Minister of Legal Committee of C PPCC), Yang Haijun (Deputy Director of Shanghai CAC) , Huang Shenghua (Director of the Third Research Institute of The Ministry of Public Security), Qiu Wei( Director of Software and Information Services Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization ) and other Shanghai leaders participated in the ceremony.
Yale Li, Chairman of CSA GCR, said “This is the first time an international cyber security NGO registered in China. CSA GCR demonstrated its leadership in cloud and digital security research in China. This is a recognition to our staff and volunteers. We will bridge our members to collaborate with international peers.” CSA has been active in the China market since its founding in 2010 and has more then ten local chapters in GCR. Further, it has participated in or led several research projects, as well as developed a close collaboration with MIIT divisions such CEPREI, CAICT, CiC.
