Cloud Security Alliance Partners with Digital Economy Promotion Agency in National Support Initiative for Learning During COVID-19
Keeping the doors of learning open and continuing education in cloud security
Bangkok, June 3, 2020 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, announced the CSA National Support Initiative, under which it has partnered with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) to provide complimentary Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) Learning Management System (LMS) licenses. The partnership will allow IT professionals to continue with their learning during the COVID-19 period.
The COVID-19 outbreak has a silver lining amidst the dark clouds; it presents IT professionals who are on Work from Home (WFH) an opportunity to learn more about cloud security and better equip themselves to harness the paradigm when economic activities resume.
“During this current crisis, CSA remains committed to expanding and improving the cybersecurity workforce with leading-edge skillsets. Through this initiative, we hope that IT and cybersecurity professionals will benefit from the CSA CCSK course and gain the new technical competency,” said Dr. Hing-Yan Lee, Executive Vice President, CSA APAC. “The IT job market is tough. One thing can put an individual head and shoulders above the rest, that is through achieving CCSK certification. This will provide an advantage over their contemporaries and allow them to stand out in the industry,” he added.
Said Dr. Kasititorn Pooparadai, Senior Executive Vice President, DEPA: “While the COVID-19 outbreak has put a significant setback on the economy, it is also a force that changes the way of living, working, and customer behavior in Thailand forever. Technology has become more vital and will continue to revolutionize our lives, and cloud technology is among those that have been used tremendously for data sharing and storage. Work and life on the cloud have become a new normal, making cloud security even more important than before.”
“The Digital Economy Promotion agency, as Thailand’s government agency to promote and support the development of digital industry, the application of digital technology and innovation, as well as the building of digital manpower in all sectors, is therefore very pleased to work with CSA and our local partners to upskill/reskill IT professionals on cloud security at this time and we look forward to more collaboration in the future,” she added.
“Working from home during the Covid-19 period is perhaps a good time to get better educated. Knowledge in cloud computing and cloud security is undeniably one of the most sought–after tech skills. So, this free CCSK online course will be warmly welcomed by the Thai Cloud Computing community. I would like to thank CSA APAC for this wonderful initiative,” said Dr. Sak Segkhoonthod, Advisor, Electronic Transaction Development Agency, and Chairman of the CSA Thailand Chapter.
What Is CCSK?
CCSK is widely recognized as the standard of expertise for cloud security and provides an individual with the foundation they need to secure data in the cloud. CCSK has helped thousands of IT and security professionals upgrade their skill sets and enhance their careers by obtaining the certification. It has helped them to prove their competency in key cloud security issues and increase employment opportunities by filling the skills-gap for cloud-certified professionals.
CCSK offers four methods for learning: (1) self-study; (2) LMS; (3) classroom-based; and (4) virtual instructor-led training. The classroom-based option has training subsidy support but has been suspended during this movement control order, however virtual instructor-led training has been available in the APAC region since April.
