London, UK, #CSASummit at RSA – October 10, 2011 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) today announced that it has appointed Daniele Catteddu as its Managing Director, EMEA, responsible for executing the CSA’s strategy across Europe. Catteddu will be presenting the CSA EU strategy at the CSA Summit, being held today in conjunction with RSA Europe. Previously, Catteddu worked at ENISA (the European Network and Information Security Agency), where he was responsible for supporting EU Member States in implementing the security obligations in the new European Framework Directive on Telecommunication. Before joining ENISA, Daniele worked as an Information Security consultant in the banking and financial sector. “Daniele’s experience in both developing and encouraging European companies and governments in their implementation of new security best practices will be of great value to the CSA as we continue our mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing,” said Jim Reavis, co-founder and Executive Director of the CSA. “Europe is a key area of focus for us, and we are excited to have Daniele in this role.” “As organizations and individuals embrace cloud computing for its ease of use and cost-effectiveness, it is clear to me that cloud security is the next frontier that urgently needs adoption of best practices,” said Catteddu. “I am thrilled to be joining the CSA to help organizations understand how they can protect themselves, their customers and partners as they seek to leverage this new, highly-efficient form of computing.” Daniele is the author of the study: “Security and Resilience in Governmental Clouds” as well as co-author of the reports: “Cloud Computing: Benefits, risks and recommendations for information security” and “Cloud Computing: Information Assurance Framework”. He is member of various national and international security expert groups, invited speaker at conferences and workshops, member of the Steering Committee of CAMM (Common Assurance Maturity Model) and reviewer for FP7 open calls, research paper and PhD thesis. Daniele graduated from the University of Parma (Italy) in Business Administration and Economics, and holds CISM and CISA certifications.
