CSA, EBD and IDA to Ratify Singapore APAC Headquarters at CloudSec 2012 Conference

Establishment of CSA Corporate Headquarters and Partnership with Leading Singaporean Agencies to Further Cloud Security in Asia Pacific

Singapore – August 15, 2012 – Further to the announcement made on July 20 that Singapore was selected as site for corporate headquarters, the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) announced it will host a signing ceremony today with representatives from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDB) to officially mark the opening of its new corporate headquarters in Singapore. The ceremony will be held today at 12:15 p.m. at the CloudSec Conference in the Raffles City Convention Center in Singapore. The new APAC headquarters will be under the leadership of Aloysius Cheang, Managing Director of CSA APAC. Cheang also serves as the Standards Secretariat for the alliance overseeing all standardization efforts within CSA and owning the relationships with other standards developing organizations. In addition, Jim Reavis, executive director of the CSA will be presenting one of the keynote addresses at CloudSec 2012 on “Global Efforts to Secure Cloud Computing”. “Following close on the heels of our announcement in late July regarding the selection of Singapore as our new corporate headquarters, we are excited to formally ratify this partnership at one of the largest cloud security conferences in Asia,” said Jim Reavis, executive director of the CSA. “Cloud security is a global concern, but especially in the APAC region which is rapidly adopting cloud services. Singapore is an ideal operational base for the CSA and in collaboration with the EDB and IDA, we will be able to promote best practices and drive standards that will help build a more secure cloud ecosystem.” Further details on the signing event can be found at: http://www.cloudsec.co/sg/agenda.htm About the Cloud Security Alliance The Cloud Security Alliance is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing.
