Qualys, Rubrik, and Zscaler Join CSAI Foundation as Vanguard Members

Qualys, Rubrik, and Zscaler Join CSAI Foundation as Vanguard Members

Companies will lend experience and thought leadership to advance the frontier of AI security, safety, and governance

LAS VEGAS – Aug. 4, 2026 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world's leading not-for-profit organization committed to AI, cloud, and Zero Trust cybersecurity education, today announced Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), the cyber risk management company for the AI age, and Zscaler, the cybersecurity platform for the AI era, have joined Rubrik, the Security and AI Operations Company, and Coefficient Giving, a philanthropic funder and advisor whose mission is to use its resources to help others as much as possible, as Vanguard members of the CSAI Foundation. Their participation further strengthens the Foundation's mission to unite industry leaders in developing practical guidance, best practices, and collaborative initiatives that help organizations build and operate secure, resilient, and trustworthy AI systems.

"Our Vanguard members bring critical expertise to CSAI's mission at a pivotal moment for AI security," said Jim Reavis, CEO and co-founder, Cloud Security Alliance. "Together, their leadership and expertise strengthen our ability to deliver the practical guidance the industry needs as agentic AI moves from experimentation to production."

Launched by the Cloud Security Alliance with support from Coefficient Giving, CSAI is an independent, public-interest organization created to address the unique governance and security challenges posed by the rapid rise of autonomous AI systems. As organizations increasingly deploy AI agents capable of independent action, the Foundation aims to provide the frameworks, education, and assurance mechanisms needed to responsibly govern agentic AI.

"The rapid adoption of AI has fundamentally changed cyber risk management. The question is no longer whether organizations are using AI, but whether they can prove it's being used safely and securely," said Sumedh Thakar, president and CEO, Qualys. "We're joining the CSA AI Foundation as a Vanguard member because we believe industry collaboration is essential to turning AI governance principles into practical, shared standards that help organizations build and deploy AI with confidence.”

“As AI becomes increasingly autonomous and interconnected, organizations need a new approach to resilience, one built on security by design, continuous verification, and collaboration across the industry,” said Kavitha Mariappan, Chief Transformation Officer, at Rubrik, the Security and AI Operations company. “No single company can solve these challenges alone, and we believe the Foundation serves an important role in helping organizations adopt AI with greater confidence.”

“Agentic systems are creating a massive new attack surface that organizations are struggling to secure. Zscaler joined the CSAI Foundation as a Vanguard member to help address the specific challenges that CISOs now face to protect and enable AI,” said Dhawal Sharma, EVP AI Security and Strategic Initiatives, Zscaler. “Together with the Foundation and its members, we are driving innovation across AI security and bringing our zero trust perspective to developing the standards and best practices for governing AI agents, systems, and interactions at scale.”

Among the CSAI’s initiatives are the recently announced AI Resilience Center of Excellence, a new program for protecting, monitoring, containing and recovering data and systems in the age of AI agents, where Rubrik is the Lead Founding Partner.
