Cloud Security Alliance Issues First Cloud Compliance Report For Spain

Spanish Chapter Publishes Report Providing a Methodological Approach to Help Address Compliance Needs in Cloud Computing

Madrid, Spain –July 12, 2011 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) today announced that the Spanish Chapter, CSA-ES, has published the first Cloud Compliance Report. This Report has been the main line of work of the chapter since its inception, just over a year ago, during the VII International Conference of ISMS Forum Spain, in Madrid. One of the main objectives of this paper is to provide a methodological approach to help address compliance needs in Cloud Computing. The report focuses on three main areas:
  • Working Group 1: Privacy and Compliance in the Cloud; led by Miguel Ángel Ballesteros
  • Working Group 2: Information Security Management Systems and Risk Management in the Cloud; led by Antonio Ramos,
  • Working Group 3: Contracting, Electronic Evidence and Audit in the Cloud; led by María Luisa Rodríguez
“Compliance is a critical component of the work the CSA is doing to further the adoption of best practices for secure cloud computing,” said Jim Reavis, Co-founder and Executive Director of the CSA. “Each CSA chapter around the world takes on an area of focus, and we are pleased that the Spanish chapter has chosen to concentrate their efforts on this key initiative for us.” The CSA-ES is currently working to translate the report into English and extending the scope to other areas not covered in the current version. The chapter is also working to implement the CCSK certification in Spanish. “The evolution to the cloud will be gradual, and compliance requirements will be one of the main parameters that will determine the speed of this evolution, "said Luis Buezo, President of CSA-ES. “We are very pleased to have completed the first of many deliverables that the CSA-ES has set out for itself.” The complete report can be downloaded here (pdf, Spanish).
