Cloud Security Alliance Asia Pacific Hosts Financial Cloud Forum in Shanghai
Organization Announces Upcoming Research and Future Events in Region
Shanghai, China – October 6, 2016 -- The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, today outlined a number of highlights from its recent Financial Cloud Forum 2016 that took place in Shanghai, China earlier this month.
"With the financial sector starting to adopt cloud computing, it is critical for us to provide a platform to review and discuss experiences, strategies, the latest technology and innovation related to the financial services sector,” said Aloysius Cheang, Executive Vice President of APAC at the CSA. “We are currently working on conducting the Financial Services Institutions Cloud Adoption Survey in various financial hubs within the APAC region which will provide true insight in to cloud option in the region."
The event was a half- day session co-hosted at Huawei Connect in Shanghai. The event gathered over 15,000 industry leaders to envision a better connected world, welcome the smart society, and shape the digital transformation of industries.

The Financial Cloud Forum 2016 coincides with a number of recent and upcoming events and initiatives taking place within the CSA, including:
Cloud Adoption Practices and Priorities in the Chinese Financial Sector – Due out October 25, the survey results research report looks to provide insight into how IT and security professionals in the finance, government, insurance, and security take action in their Financial Services Institutions within China.
The Big Data Security and Privacy Handbook: 100 Best Practices in Big Data Security and Privacy (Published) - The handbook provides a roster of 100 best practices, ranging from typical cybersecurity measures, such as authentication and access control, to state-of-the-art cryptographic technologies. It addresses why these security measures are needed as well as how they can be implemented.
Mobile Application Security Testing Initiative (Published) - The report details the issues of mobile app vetting from a life-cycle perspective, mobile app development management, mobile app coding, and audit management security issues.
Additional CSA working groups are also currently working to address a number of other research areas including developing secure IoT devices, block chain technologies and increasing the level of assurance and trust in the cloud market through its Financial Services Stakeholder Platform.
Additionally, the CSA APAC region is planning a number of upcoming events including the CSA Government Cyber Security Forum on October 12 in Singapore, the CSA Greater China Summit 2016 on October 24-26 in Beijing, and the CSA APAC Congress on November 22-23 in Bengaluru, India.
