Zero Trust Partner & Relationship Lead at DoD

Ms. Bean serves as the Partner Engagement and Relationship Lead for the Department of Defense (DoD) Zero Trust Portfolio Management Office (ZT PfMO). Her position is to provide foundation and direction to help align initiatives across all elements of Doctrine, Organization, Training, material, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTmLPF-P). She is responsible for ZT cybersecurity matters related to enterprise wide ZT partner relations and the ZT Community of Practice (CoP), including coordination of activities within the ZT PfMO and across the DoD and with stakeholders in the ZT ecosystem to further the Department’s Zero Trust portfolio priorities. Leads assistance and support efforts and projects relative to supporting stakeholders across the ZT ecosystem that develop, deliver, and support ZT-related information technology (IT) systems and services. She manages key partnership and community of practice functions of the ZT PfMO: managing relationships and building/implementing a ZT community of practice. The mission of the DoD ZT PfMO is to accelerate Zero Trust adoption to prevent lateral movement of adversaries by FY27.

Ms. Bean previously spent four years as a government contractor with the DoD DCIO-SAP IT. In that time, she served as the Senior Executive Assistant, Program Manager and Personnel Security Manager. She was responsible for the establishment and implementation of modernizing capabilities, realizing efficiencies, and strengthening cybersecurity across compartmented IT. Conducting research and development delivering cyber modernization, capabilities, identifying efficiencies, and strengthening threat monitoring. She assisted in the coordination and management of a wide variety of sensitive and complex projects with Cybersecurity policy implications, keeping the team informed of critical developments and key issues.

Prior to her time with DCIO she served in a variety of leadership positions while serving on active duty in the Air Force as a Knowledge Operations Manager, Security Specialist and Squadron Superintendent from 1993 to 2019. Tours of duty included assignments in Germany and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ms. Bean holds a Master of Science in Management from Strayer University of Washington DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Development from American Military of West Virginia.
