Enterprise Management Associates Names Cloud Security Alliance as a Cutting-Edge Security Exhibitor in Its Vendor Vision 2024 Report for RSA

CSA was the only nonprofit to be named in the report

SAN FRANCISCO (RSA Conference) May 7, 2024 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining standards, certifications, and best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, is pleased to announce that it was selected as a leading security exhibitor at RSA by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) as part of its annual Vendor Vision report. As a vendor-neutral nonprofit with a diverse membership of 500 leading service providers, startups, and enterprises, CSA was the only nonprofit organization to appear on the list, which shines the spotlight on 12 trailblazing security companies exhibiting at this year’s conference.

"It's a tremendous honor to be named as a visionary in this year's Vendor Vision Report, especially as we are celebrating 15 years of leadership in the cloud security space," said Jim Reavis, CEO and co-founder, Cloud Security Alliance. "Rest assured, the next 15 years will continue to see CSA at the forefront of security guidance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Zero Trust and everything in between."

Since its inception, CSA has been a leader in cloud security, from providing best practices that help organizations on their cloud journey to high-level training and cutting-edge research. Among its most industry-defining initiatives are:

  • AI Safety Initiative. A pioneering effort dedicated to establishing and disseminating trusted security best practices for AI. With an initial focus on Generative AI, its mission is to empower organizations of all sizes with the guidelines, templates, and knowledge they need to deploy AI solutions that are safe, responsible, and compliant.
  • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK). As the first credential of its kind in the industry, the CCSK certificate is widely recognized as the standard of expertise for cloud security, providing a cohesive and vendor-neutral understanding of how to secure data in the cloud.
  • Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust (CCZT). Based on the key concepts outlined in CSA's Zero Trust Training (ZTT), the award-winning CCZT provides an in-depth understanding of Zero Trust architecture, its components, and its functioning. It includes foundational Zero Trust best practices released by leading authoritative sources such as CISA and NIST, innovative work around the Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) by CSA Research, and guidance from renowned Zero Trust experts such as John Kindervag, founder of the Zero Trust philosophy and one of the world’s foremost cybersecurity experts.
  • Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM). A cybersecurity control framework for cloud computing aligned to the CSA Security Guidance for Cloud Computing that is considered a de-facto standard for cloud security assurance and compliance. The CCM is composed of 197 control objectives that are structured in 17 domains, covering all key aspects of cloud technology.
  • Zero Trust Advancement Center (ZTAC). CSA continues to further the “never trust, always verify” principles of Zero Trust with the creation of the ZTAC, which delivers the first authoritative, vendor-neutral Zero Trust training and certificate that provides the knowledge needed to understand the core concepts of Zero Trust.
  • Security, Trust, Assurance, and Risk (STAR) Registry. A publicly accessible registry that documents the security and privacy controls provided by popular cloud computing offerings. STAR encompasses the key principles of transparency, rigorous auditing, and harmonization of standards outlined in the CCM and is the industry's most powerful program for security assurance in the cloud.
  • Quantum-safe computing. As a pioneer in educating the cloud and cybersecurity communities on the dangers that quantum computers present to modern-day cybersecurity and those organizations that house sensitive data, CSA through its Quantum-safe Security Working Group is addressing key generation and transmission methods that will aid the industry in understanding quantum-safe methods for protecting data through quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography.

Now in its third year, EMA's Vendor Vision report aims to enhance the conference experience by providing attendees with a comprehensive roadmap to the most innovative vendors and solutions showcased at the event. To compile the list, EMA’s information security, risk, and compliance management team sent questionnaires to nearly every exhibitor on the show floor and selected 12 that are a “must see” while attending the conference.
