Survey: What Short Training Courses Most Interest You?

CSA is in the process of developing our Cloud Infrastructure Security Training, a series of 1 hour training courses. These courses provide a high-level primer on some of the most critical cloud security topics. Based on research by CSA’s expert working groups, they build upon your cybersecurity knowledge and introduce you to key aspects of cloud security that you may not be as familiar with. So far, we’ve released the Cloud Key Management Foundations course and the Microservices & Containers Fundamentals course. Courses that are in development include Top Threats to Cloud Computing and DevSecOps.

Cloud Key Management Foundations
The self-paced Cloud Key Management Foundations course provides an introduction to cloud key management. It covers foundational topics such as key management’s history, main definitions, and components, as well as key features that comprise today’s cloud key management solutions. Additionally, this course details considerations for key management system selection and planning.
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain cloud KMS’ roots in traditional key management, its history, and evolution to cloud-based key management.
- Distinguish between two cloud KMS patterns: cloud KMS and cloud KMS with external key origination.
- Describe cloud KMS’ technical, operational, regulatory/legal, and financial considerations.
- Explain the cloud KMS control environment and its controls.

Microservices & Containers Fundamentals
The self-paced Microservices & Containers Fundamentals course provides learners with an introduction to microservices and containers, covering foundational topics like microservices and containers’ history, main definitions, as well as key adjacent software models such as monoliths and SOA. Additionally, this course covers the security challenges and mitigations related to deploying microservices in containers.
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the history and evolution of microservices and containers.
- Distinguish between microservice, monolith, and SOA software models.
- Describe the role of containers and their underlying technologies.
- Explain the security challenges and mitigation strategies associated with microservices and containers.
