The US Federal Government has been headed into the cloud since introduction of its Cloud First policy in 2011. Since then a series of executive orders and guidance have followed promoting shared service use and focusing on cloud security. The more recent Cloud Smart policy further drove the concept of cloud computing for cost savings and renewed its commitment to closing the skills gap and improving security. Executive Order 14208, “Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity” continues by driving the stake even deeper by reducing the friction associated with cyber event and information sharing between Cloud Service Providers and the Government.
