How NTT DATA embarked on the Zero Trust Journey

2022 is about Zero Trust being the number one priority of every organization’s cybersecurity roadmap. On May 12th 2021, an Executive Order turned into policy, something that the NSA and leading cyber experts have long been advocating ie; to use a Zero trust framework. Much of NTT DATA’s growth is attributed to mergers and acquisitions across the globe which resulted in different levels of security. The NTT DATA CISO group selected NIST CSF with a Zero trust framework and a standard well integrated technology stack to create an organization wide approach to cybersecurity. This presentation talks about how the business benefits were communicated to the NTT DATA board and how we started our Zero Trust journey. NTT DATA began with an identity led approach and worked towards rationalizing the many identity stores and moving to a single source of truth, we then worked towards securing the other Zero Trust pillars. Today, NTT DATA operates a large-scale zero trust architecture globally, for our 140,000 employees in 55 markets worldwide. We’ve been down this road, and we would like to share that journey with you.
