MAESTRO v2
Open Until: 07/10/2026
Agentic AI systems mark a fundamental shift from passive intelligence to active agency—autonomously perceiving, reasoning, planning, and executing actions directly against production infrastructure. Unlike traditional AI that generates outputs requiring human action, compromised agentic systems function as embedded insider threats operating at machine speed, with legitimate credentials, API access, and the ability to affect critical business operations at a scale far exceeding conventional data breaches. The MAESTRO framework addresses this emergent class of Agency Risk through a structured, defense-in-depth architecture, and MAESTRO v2.0 represents a major evolution of that framework: expanding from seven layers to ten, organized into three operational domains aligned with the CSA AI Agent Reference Architecture. Horizontal cross-cutting layers spanning governance, safety, monitoring, and identity management enforce a centralized Trust Control Plane, ensuring security is architected into agentic systems from the foundation rather than bolted on after deployment.
