CSA Announces the Newly Created Research Lifecycle Arrow to Content

The Cloud Security Alliance research team announces the newly created Research Lifecycle, a comprehensive, step-by-step guide that sets up a series of standard procedures for the generation of a CSA research product. It is our goal to streamline the research process, making it easier for volunteers and staff to produce the high-quality best practices research we are known for.

From the conceptual phase to product dissemination, the Lifecycle creates transparency in each part of the research process. It addresses how to initiate a project, what steps are taken to create and submit a proposal, and how to set project milestones and take advantage of some of CSA’s collaborative research tools during the draft creation period. Upon completion of a first draft, the product is submitted for peer review, typically a one-month period in which the community is invited to review and give critical feedback on the research. The publication schedule is presented as a one-month preparation period prior to release, in which the artifact is submitted for copyediting, formatting, and a final internal review. During this period, a communication plan is developed to identify the channels through which the product will be disseminated. Finally, the research artifact is published on CSA’s website
