CSA and ISACA Issue Joint Survey on Cloud Maturity - Now Open for Responses

Cloud Market Maturity Task Force is the First Collaborative Project Between CSA and ISACA

Rolling Meadows, IL – May 14, 2012 – Today, the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and ISACA announced the availability of a new survey on cloud market maturity, part of the first collaborative project between the two organizations. The cloud market is evolving as users accept it as a valuable approach to providing technology services to support business goals and to serve customers. As cloud is increasingly accepted, the types of services, the complexity of solutions, and the maturity of supporting processes, both for service suppliers and users, will evolve. With this survey, the CSA and ISACA, two global nonprofit associations, plan to learn and share insight into the maturity of cloud computing and to track changes in the market. The survey will be open to the public through June 1, and can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CloudMarketSurvey Results are scheduled to be published by the CSA and ISACA in July. The Cloud Maturity survey is intended for business and technology users of cloud and those who provide cloud services, consult on cloud, or offer integration services. The survey will cover areas of interest such as how well cloud service definitions are understood and accepted, what current expectations are, to what extent these expectations are being satisfied, and what the future will bring in terms of these expectations. It will also address the benefits obtained from innovative use of cloud and what influences innovation from a provider and user standpoint. Ron Hale, chief knowledge officer of ISACA, said, “This survey, to our knowledge, is the first that attempts to analyze and understand the current maturity of the cloud computing market. We expect that it will become a recurring barometer of change in the cloud market. This project will help us understand the maturity stages for cloud services and what the expectations and requirements are for future growth.” Jim Reavis, executive director of the CSA, added, “We want to understand how cloud is perceived, by geography, industry, and professional role, as well as what issues are being addressed, and what the expectations are concerning the cloud market. We are pleased to be partnering with ISACA on this body of work, and hope that the project will provide insight that will be useful for providers as well as users and prospective users in making cloud services a more effective business solution.” About the Cloud Security Alliance The Cloud Security Alliance is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing.
