EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND – June 28, 2012 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) today announced a PhD studentship programme in the context of its Education and Training activities. CSA will partner with universities and research centers in Europe to recruit talented PhD researchers in the area of cloud security and privacy. It will connect PhD students with industry partners from CSA’s corporate members, to enhance research quality and deployability, while at the same time providing career development opportunities. The first round will recruit up to 3 PhD students, starting November 1, 2012, offering a 3 year full time contract covering PhD tuition and examination fees for the same period. The selection of academic partners will be made on the basis of research excellence and relevance to CSA’s research agenda, as well as project timelines and other criteria established by the CSA. Students will pursue their PhD studies within CSA’s portfolio of European cloud security research activities. “This is a tremendous opportunity for universities and individual PhD candidates to get involved in the rapidly changing area of cloud security research,” said Daniele Catteddu, EMEA Managing Director for the Cloud Security Alliance. “We are looking for talented researchers who are interested in working on academic research with a strong practical focus. The research will involve close collaboration with CSA’s industrial partners, providing exciting prospects for further career development.” Universities can submit a brief expression of interest online by Friday, July 13th.
