Cloud Security Alliance and Asia Cybersecurity Exchange Renew Memorandum of Intent

Collaboration strengthens ties between both organizations in areas of research, capacity building, and training

Malaysia, May 13, 2020 – The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, announced that it has renewed its Memorandum of Intent (MoI) with the Asia Cybersecurity Exchange (ACE) on April 21, 2020. The renewed collaboration encourages future collaboration between both parties in such areas as research, capacity building, and training.

The new MoI furthers the joint efforts between CSA and AsiacyberX, specifically in the areas of:

  • Sharing at events in competency and expertise in cloud security, assurance, risk management, and governance;
  • Development of quality content for specific research and best practices, covering technology governance, risk, security, and audit-related areas; and
  • Development of quality content for AsiacyberX’s capacity building and innovation program.

"We have achieved much together in building the cloud security community in Malaysia the last two years. The renewed MoI will help intensify the working partnership between CSA and AsiacyberX in education and research, including technical and professional education and training, and will open up new avenues of cooperation," said Jim Reavis, co-founder and CEO, CSA.

The first MoI was signed in April 2018 at the launch of AsiacyberX in Malaysia. During the course of the initial MoI, both parties successfully organized and supported the inaugural CSA Malaysia Summit (2018) and CSA APAC Congress (2019) targeting the cloud security community. Further, both parties led and participated in the development of quality content for such research working groups as Mobile Application Security Testing and Cloud Incident Response, and Certificate of Cloud Security training and events (e.g., cloud industry roundtable discussions).

“We are delighted to continue the partnership between AsiacyberX and CSA to continuing growing the talents into world-class players. It is a consolidated partnership as we believe working together can create greater outcomes,” said Group Chairman Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Ahmad Fuzi Haji Abdul Razak.
