Andrew Vance
Principal, Strategic Advisory and Research
Andrew is a Principal Advisor and Researcher at the Cyber Institute. He holds affiliate faculty positions at Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland in their Computer Science and Cybersecurity departments.
He serves on CSA's Quantum-Safe Security working group and has helped co-author guidance on implementing secure cloud architectures.
Andrew is evangelical about emerging technologies. He holds a master's degree in engineering with emphasis on cybersecurity and a doctorate (ABD) degree in quantum computing and cybersecurity.
He has provided legislative and policy advisement to United States (US) Congress, information security and cyber warfare services to NATO, US Department of Defense, and US government agencies. Currently he serves as Co-Chair on IEEE's Quantum Nomenclature Working Group and serves as a U.S Delegate to the United Nations ITU-T Group towards international standardization of information technology security; particularly cybersecurity within quantum computing implementations.
