Ms. Myriam Batista is the Chief Information and Compliance Officer at Reef Systems, a North Carolina-based company. Myriam has 20+ years of experience leading the implementation of cybersecurity and technology solutions in support of government agencies, educational institutions, and commercial customers. Most recently, Myriam’s focus has been on helping companies implement cloud security controls to achieve compliance with Federal Government requirements and Commercial frameworks (e.g. NIST SP 800-171, ISO 27001, CMMC, etc.). Myriam has experienced the evolution of cloud computing throughout her career, and understands the value that a proper cloud implementation brings to an organization. Myriam has extensive expertise as an Adjunct Professor and Instructor teaching professionals and adult learners, is a CCSK, ISO Lead Auditor, PMP, Cyber-AB CMMC Assessor and Instructor, and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Myriam is fluent in Spanish.
