OMNES

OMNES

OMNES is the world’s first software solution using the FITS format (Flexible Image Transport Protocol) for the long term preservation of digital images. Omnes is a web-based platform for the management of long-term data and content, and consists of the convergence of different systems (Digital Asset Management, Information Retrieval System, Text Analytics System, Long Data Preservation System, etc.). Its powerful search engine is able to extract information from both structured Data Base and Big Data and simultaneously allows both full text search and metadata, with the huge advantage of using "native" tools of Omnes without having to use services offered by external providers (such as Google or Amazon). The main functional features of the service are: • sharing images through the IIIF framework • annotation system • full text search on content and metadata • organization of file archive plan • use of FITS format for storage • conversion to other formats (jpeg, pdf, tiff)
